Journey of Growing Lady's Finger Plant: Third Week Growth Condition (5/10- 11/10)

In third week of growth, the plantlets have increase their leaf size and height. The height for plants in pot A and B are 12.5 cm and 13 cm respectively. The cotyledon leaf does not show increase in their leaf size. The petiole of the cotyledon increase in length and growth horizontally toward side. Third leaf (5/10) and fourth leaf (8/10) was emerged from both plants. At the end of this week we found that there are many tiny black dot spread on the upper surface of the first leaf. This occurance may due the plant was infected by bacteria or fungus.

5/10/2015 (Monday)
Plants increase their height ans leaf size. Third leaf emerged. From the figure below we can see that trichomes on almost all parts of the plant (clearly seen on the stem).

6/10/2015 (Tuesday)
Morning:

In the evening, it was a heavy rain and we are not able to move the pots back to the original place, the plants fall due to their thin and long stem which is not able withstand the heavy rain. It also due to we didn't put enough soil in the pot, so during the rain, water is accumulate in the pot and cause the soil drain away and cannot hold the plant stably. However the root still anchor to the soil and we just add more soil to hold the plant in straight. We also put a stick to give support to the plants and prevent it from falling down again if there is heavy rain.

The plants growth nicely even though met the heavy rain yesterday. Third leaf increase the size.

Pot A: Pot B: Third leaf

The observation of plants from 8/10 to 11/10 shows increasing in the height, size of leaf and the length of petiole. In both if the Pot A and B, the colour of the first leave become dull and there are a lot of black dot found on the leaf surface (not really seen from the image). This occurrence may due to the infection of fungus or bacteria.
